Georgian, born in Moscow in 1980. For most of my life I worked as a corporate lawyer and head of procurement in oil & gas — and all that time I kept drawing and sculpting. It was only after forty that I understood this might have been my real calling.
Van Gogh and the impressionists were my first inspiration — their courage in form and vivid colour. My own work walks that same edge: folk ornament and myth meet a psychedelic palette, and each painting is an attempt to hold on to a dream you almost remember.
